The President of the Republic of Vestina took part in an interview with the Sovereign Vestina News Agency.

- Mr. President, how do you assess the results of 2024 for the Republic of Vestina?

- The year 2024 has become a very important and turning point for our country. We have managed to achieve significant results in many areas of State-building. We celebrated the Year of the Family on a large scale, which allowed us to draw the attention of the state to many problems in the field of family policy. We have achieved significant success in the foreign policy sphere, as we have established diplomatic relations with several states, conducted quite effective correspondence with the leadership of other micronations, which certainly strengthens our ties in the world community. One of the key points of the outgoing year is our path towards building a Digital state. There is a lot of work to be done, which will require great efforts and maximum support from citizens.

- You have raised the issue of building a digital state. What important foundations of state-building have already been completed, and which ones are yet to be implemented?

- It is important to understand that for global reforms that will be implemented within the framework of building a Digital state, an important basis is the legal framework. To date, we have already adopted two important normative legal acts that have helped us take the very first steps towards a Digital state - the Law of the Republic of Vestina "On Digital Property" and the Concept of a digital state. The law "On Digital Property" allowed us to define the concept of Vestina's property in electronic form and the procedure for its protection. The concept defines a step–by-step strategy that will allow you to accomplish the main task - to build a Digital state. However, for the success of building such a state mechanism, a strong legal framework and compliance of the entire regulatory framework with the requirements of the reform are necessary. That is why I consider it necessary to inform you that at the moment it is planned to prepare a draft Constitution of the Republic of Vestina, which will provide all the necessary legal aspects for the functioning of the Digital state. It is planned that we will symbolically hold a referendum on the adoption of the Constitution on the day of the adoption of the first one, on a holiday – January 12. I will additionally inform you about this.

- And what changes are specifically planned to be made to the Constitution? Will it be much different from the current one?

- I do not think that it will undergo major changes. The fundamental principles of the state will not be affected, of course. And the state structure, as a whole, will not be changed either. That is, the Head of State is still the President. The Government and the Garacium remain in their status. However, an important change will be the elimination of the institution of local government. Also, the administrative-territorial division will certainly be changed. Because the status of a digital state presupposes the unity of the electronic space. Based on this, the electoral legislation will be changed, since the elections of local executive bodies will be excluded from the law.

It is also planned to consolidate the foundations for the further sustainable development of the Digital state in the Constitution.
